The original drawing was done in a 20-minute life drawing session. It was then copied on a zinc plate. After the first five copies are printed, the aquatint technique was used to darken the background and girl’s hair. Various copies printed in different color combinations. “Sunrise and sunset over the Thames” or “My Little Rothko Twins”
I tried to imitate Rothko’s technique but on a much smaller scale. Each painting has around 50 layers of paint. In each layer, I used little paint and diluted it with acrylic glazing medium.
